American Piping Products moves up in St. Louis Top 150 rankings

St. Louis, Mo. — American Piping Products moved up in the Top 150 Privately Held Companies ranking by the St. Louis Business Journal for 2017.

Posting a revenue of $155 million, American Piping Products ranked 127th on the St. Louis Business Journal’s list.

The 24 percent bump in revenue resulted in a ten-spot move in the ranking over last year, when the company ranked 137th after posting $125 million in revenue for 2016.

Chesterfield-based American Piping Products is an international distributor of steel pipe and fittings serving customers in the power generation, energy and infrastructure industrial sectors. President Matt Danis said the company’s growth in 2017 was due to the launch of new products, the addition of new sales staff and “improved end-market dynamics.”

The company is projecting additional growth in 2018.

“We expect 2018 to be better than 2017 as we continue to build our inventory and demand remains robust for our products,” Danis said.

With an inventory of more than 60,000 tons of steel pipe, fittings and flanges, American Piping Products is one of the largest piping product distributors in the world. American Piping Products has been named to the St. Louis Business Journal’s Top 150 Privately Held Companies list for several consecutive years and has previously been named to Metal Center News’ list of Top 50 Pipe and Tube Suppliers in the U.S.
